About the position

The Data Governance Engineer at Bose will oversee organization-wide data governance activities, focusing on the stewardship of sensitive data and information assets. This role involves establishing and adhering to an enterprise data governance framework, collaborating with the Data Strategy team to ensure data consistency, and resolving data governance and compliance issues in partnership with Business and Functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage organization-wide data governance activities.
  • Assist the Data Governance Lead in establishing an enterprise data governance framework.
  • Collaborate with the Data Strategy team to drive consistency of data across the enterprise.
  • Lead the resolution of data governance, compliance, and protection issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to define data protection requirements.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems and retention policies.
  • Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline expenses.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a major services organization with large-scale data oversight experience.
  • Knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices.
  • Understanding of data governance practices and issues related to enterprise information management.
  • Familiarity with government regulatory requirements and emerging trends.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Demonstrated consulting skills and change management strategies.
  • Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions.
  • Bachelor's or Master's in computer science, Data Analytics/Informatics, or related fields.
