About the position

The Executive Director, Data Governance Lead at DTCC is responsible for developing and leading the organization's data governance program. This role focuses on ensuring that DTCC's data assets are effectively managed, protected, and utilized to enhance business value while adhering to risk and compliance requirements. The position involves setting the strategic vision for data governance, establishing policies and frameworks, and promoting a culture of data stewardship across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop DTCC's data governance framework aligned with the Enterprise Data Strategy.
  • Formalize and communicate the data management operating model, including roles and responsibilities.
  • Establish data governance framework, policies, and standards across the data management lifecycle.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance data governance practices.
  • Lead the execution of the data governance program, defining goals and metrics.
  • Identify and define key data assets and data quality standards in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Assess data governance maturity and prioritize areas for improvement.
  • Develop and oversee the data governance roadmap for continuous improvement.
  • Supervise execution of policies and standards by key partners and report on effectiveness using KPIs.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in data management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in data governance or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Solid understanding of data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with data management tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Alation.
