About the position

The Data Governance Lead will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality data across the organization by collaborating with various teams, including data governance, data management, and business intelligence. This position focuses on the end-to-end data flow and lifecycle, establishing data quality dimensions, rules, and indicators to meet organizational needs and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with source system owners, data consumers, and IT to ensure data usability, timeliness, robustness, trustworthiness, and compliance.
  • Analyze the end-to-end data flow and lifecycle to establish global and local data quality dimensions, rules, and indicators.
  • Design and maintain policies, methodologies, and guidelines around data quality, data profiling, and data cleansing, including KPI/metrics definitions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement relevant data quality rules and policies.
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage governance tools to track and manage data quality and compliance.
  • Manage the execution and monitoring of the Data Quality Project in partnership with the PMO.
  • Solicit and capture data quality expectations and document data quality rules.
  • Perform analyses of data flows and data sources.
  • Establish and document data quality processes.
  • Establish reporting of data quality metrics.
  • Manage data quality communications to business stakeholders and data governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
  • Experience in data and analytics engagements with key responsibilities in managing organization-wide data governance implementation.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles, standards, and best practices, including data governance and data management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, data quality management software, and database querying languages (e.g., SQL).
  • Experience in data management and data governance roles such as data analyst, data steward, or data quality analyst.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving data quality issues.
  • Working knowledge of various project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Lean, Waterfall).

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to create visually pleasing, client-ready presentations and project status updates.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
