About the position

The position is focused on leading data governance initiatives within the organization, particularly in the manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a data governance framework that ensures the integrity, quality, and accessibility of data across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of both business and IT perspectives, allowing for effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders. The candidate will engage with resources outside of their direct control to achieve objectives, demonstrating strong leadership and problem-solving skills. In this role, the individual will be expected to stand up a data governance practice, which includes defining data governance policies, standards, and procedures. They will work closely with teams to ensure compliance with these standards and to promote a culture of data stewardship throughout the organization. The candidate will also be responsible for evaluating and implementing data governance tools that facilitate data management processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operational processes and a solid understanding of the systems landscape within this industry. They will be adept at communicating complex data-related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed. The role requires a high sense of urgency and a commitment to quality, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with peers, executives, and other departments. The candidate must be willing to go beyond their primary responsibilities to drive success and meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment and maintenance of a data governance framework.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Business Administration or 7 years of related field experience.
  • 5 years working in a Data Governance leadership role.
  • 3 years experience with Master Data Management.
  • 5 years working in the Manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operational processes and data systems landscape.
  • Demonstrable experience standing up a data governance practice.
  • Experience with one or more data governance tools.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
  • Comfortable communicating with all audiences from technical engineers to non-technical executives.
  • Ability to build good relationships with peers and executives.
