About the position

The Data Governance Leader at nVent is a crucial role responsible for spearheading the company's Data Governance program. This position involves expanding Master Data Management (MDM) efforts, championing data and business glossaries, and ensuring optimal data security through collaboration with various teams. The leader will engage with partners across the organization to classify data, craft secure handling guidelines, and provide comprehensive training for data users, ultimately shaping the future of Data Governance at nVent.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead nVent's Data Governance program and expand Master Data Management (MDM) efforts.
  • Engage partners across nVent to classify data for optimal security.
  • Craft guidelines for secure data handling and define comprehensive training for data users.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Privacy, and Information Security teams for unified data management.
  • Build a Data Governance Community of Practice to ensure accuracy and usability of information.
  • Ensure Leadership alignment with data governance initiatives' scope and goals.
  • Empower data owners, stewards, and users through training and support.
  • Establish data quality and master data standards, advocating for adherence to these standards.
  • Strategically prioritize the backlog to align with key initiatives and drive impactful change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 5+ years in a managerial role with strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in pioneering strategic data initiatives and providing thought leadership.
  • Ability to communicate technical solutions in business terms and engage with executives and stakeholders.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, solution architecture, design, development, and deployment.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills and experience with organizational change management concepts.
