As a Data Governance Manager at Hyster-Yale Group, Inc. (HYG), you will play a pivotal role in leading the Data Governance Council and managing the overall data governance framework across the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders who own key areas of data ownership, ensuring that data governance practices are effectively implemented and adhered to throughout the company. You will lead the creation and management of the data, analytics, and algorithm governance program, defining a decision framework that encompasses information policies and standards to enable successful business outcomes with big data and analytics. In this role, you will be responsible for rolling out an enterprise-wide data governance framework that focuses on improving data quality and protecting sensitive data. This will involve modifying organizational behavior policies and standards, establishing governance metrics, and refining processes, tools, and data architecture. You will also lead the Master Data Management (MDM) program, defining policies specific to MDM and ensuring that the organization understands and supports information ownership. Your influence will extend to business teams globally, as you act as a trustee of data, advocating for its better usage and ensuring compliance with the information governance policy. You will monitor the current state of data quality and process integrity, aligning data quality initiatives with business objectives and identifying high-value use cases. Additionally, you will assess the maturity of existing data quality and MDM programs, document quality problems, and create remediation plans to address these issues effectively.
