About the position

The Data Governance Manager at iptiQ Americas will play a crucial role in supporting the development and execution of data governance initiatives that align with business objectives. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to define and implement data policies, standards, and processes, ensuring data quality and compliance across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with data owners, data stewards, and data users to define and implement data policies, standards, and processes
  • Perform data-related risk control assessments to identify, log, and resolve data issues and gaps
  • Support third-party oversight, application decommissioning activities, and outsourcing and sourcing due diligence
  • Define and implement data quality KPIs to measure and improve data quality
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in various regions to align global standards for data governance
  • Assist with ad hoc data analysis requests and organize the collection of conduct risk metrics
  • Create data visualizations to enable automated tracking of important metrics
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, data lineage, and data maps to document and track data sources, definitions, ownership, and usage

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, and analytics roles
  • Ability to lead and coordinate data governance initiatives across multiple business units and stakeholders
  • Experience in conducting data assessments and remediation plans to ensure compliance with data governance frameworks
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills to promote data governance awareness and adoption across the organization
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and knowledge on laws and regulations related to records and data management

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with databases, SQL, and data visualization tools is strongly preferred
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related discipline is preferred
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus (not required)
