About the position

The Data Governance Manager at Raymond James Financial will play a crucial role in overseeing the governance of data across the organization. Reporting to the VP of Data Governance, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data, particularly in relation to regulatory reporting for Category IV financial institutions. The role requires collaboration with various business units and stakeholders to develop and implement data governance policies, improve data quality, and drive accountability for data management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve data issues across the organization.
  • Plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate governance-related activities to ensure high data quality and reliability.
  • Develop automation capabilities for the Corporate Data Governance team using various tools.
  • Participate in projects involving data flows, processes, and ownership.
  • Contribute to a comprehensive data governance repository detailing definitions, ownership, and data quality controls.
  • Drive data quality initiatives and collaborate with the VP of Data Governance to design and implement policies and procedures.
  • Create dashboards and reports to monitor data quality metrics.
  • Support the deployment of the company's data governance policy and framework.
  • Communicate data standards and policies to ensure consistent information across the organization.
  • Document processes and keep leadership informed on data management efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in data quality, governance, or management.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with a solid understanding of data governance policies and processes.
  • Experience with data governance tools such as Ab Initio, Collibra, or Informatica Data Quality is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Federal Reserve Bank regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Python, Tableau, Qlik, and PowerBI.
  • Knowledge of banking, finance, and securities industry operations.
