The Data Governance & Metadata Management Architect is responsible for designing and implementing a robust data governance framework, with a particular focus on metadata management. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the organization's data assets are effectively managed, catalogued, and governed, enabling data-driven decision-making while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The architect will work closely with data stewards, IT teams, and business collaborators to establish metadata standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security across the organization. In this position, the architect will develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures for data management. They will establish data stewardship roles and responsibilities across business units and ensure compliance with data-related regulations and industry standard methodologies. The architect will also design and implement an enterprise-wide metadata management strategy, including the creation of a metadata repository, and define and maintain metadata standards to ensure consistent use and understanding of data across the organization. Additionally, the architect will evaluate and recommend data governance and metadata management tools and technologies, designing the architecture for integrating these tools with existing data platforms such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data catalogs. Collaboration with IT, data engineering, and business units is essential to ensure that data governance and metadata management initiatives align with business goals. The architect will provide leadership and guidance to data stewards and other team members in the implementation of metadata management practices, conducting training sessions and workshops to promote a culture of data governance and stewardship within the organization.
