About the position

SAIC is seeking a Data Governance Policy Principal to play a vital role in the Prime Program Landmark AOS in Chantilly, VA. This position involves assisting the information/data governance team in developing and executing a comprehensive data governance framework, policy, and standards. The role focuses on improving data quality and protecting sensitive data while ensuring compliance with established governance metrics and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of an enterprise-wide data governance framework.
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure accountability for stewardship of information assets.
  • Serve as a liaison between functional technology areas to clarify data-related business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems and owners.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality and protection standards across the enterprise.
  • Define performance indicators and quality metrics to ensure compliance with data policies and standards.
  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap.
  • Provide progress reports to government management and updates to the data governance roadmap.
  • Provide technical leadership to individual engineers regarding data governance and policy adherence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of experience; Master's degree with seven (7) years of experience; or PhD/JD with four (4) years of experience.
  • 6+ years' experience with IC, DoD, and/or commercial space architectures and large-scale data or project management.
  • 3+ years' experience with industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices and business/technology issues related to enterprise information management.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills and knowledge of change management concepts.

  • Familiarity with data-related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends.
