About the position

As a Product Manager within the Data Governance Product Registration Team, you will play a crucial role in transforming customer interactions with metadata. This position focuses on ensuring the capture of accurate inventory with high-quality metadata and effective change management capabilities, aligning product strategies with the company's business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for the Data Governance Registration area.
  • Define product requirements and collaborate with engineering and design teams to prioritize features that meet customer needs.
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Develop compelling product positioning and value propositions for data governance solutions.
  • Identify use cases and high-level requirements for exceptional user experiences based on business requirements and research findings.
  • Advocate for the product's value proposition to foster brand loyalty.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in product management, data management, product ownership, or a similar role.
  • Extensive experience with data catalogs, including data modeling.
  • Exceptional written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven expertise in web-based application information architecture design and usability principles.
  • Strong technical background to effectively communicate feature requirements to engineering teams.
  • Experience in a fast-paced agile environment with the ability to manage tight delivery timelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with open-source and commercial catalog solutions.
  • Technical knowledge of data management and governance, big data platforms, or data architecture.
  • Proficiency in conducting user research and analyzing quantitative customer data.
  • Bachelor's degree in product management, data management, or equivalent professional experience.
