About the position

The Data Governance Product Specialist plays a crucial role within Raymond James Financial's Data Governance function, focusing on the implementation and maintenance of the firm's data governance program, particularly for the banking sector. This position involves collaborating with various operational lines of business to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to enhance data quality and governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate business-unit-level data stewardship to identify and resolve data issues.
• Promote optimal data quality and completeness of data.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments on data management initiatives.
• Assist in initial data quality testing and data remediation efforts.
• Integrate Banking data into the comprehensive data governance repository.
• Develop and deploy policies and procedures for data quality efforts.
• Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations of relevant metrics.
• Define and communicate data standards, policies, and frameworks.
• Ensure Data Governance processes are developed and communicated effectively.
• Create documentation to resolve data issues and inform leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, regulatory, or data governance operations.
• Three years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically in Banking.
• Knowledge of data management and governance principles.
• Familiarity with banking industry operations and risk control frameworks.
• Experience with business analytics tools such as Tableau, Python, and PowerBI.
