The Associate Principal, Information Governance and Privacy is a pivotal role within our organization, reporting directly to the Privacy and Data Protection Officer. This position is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of a comprehensive information governance, data protection, and privacy program. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including the formulation of strategies, policies, procedures, and controls that govern the management and protection of information throughout its lifecycle. The Associate Principal will collaborate with various stakeholders to define the information governance, data protection, and privacy requirements for external organizations with whom we share information, ensuring compliance with these requirements to mitigate risks. Additionally, this role will represent the program to both internal and external stakeholders and will play a key role in developing and implementing training and awareness programs related to information governance and privacy. A significant focus of this position is on ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and legal requirements, such as SEC Regulation SCI and CFTC System Safeguards, as they pertain to information governance. The Associate Principal will also support regulatory examinations and internal audit remediation planning, tracking, and mitigation efforts. This role requires a strong understanding of data governance within highly regulated environments, particularly in the financial sector, where governance policies, procedures, and records management systems are critical. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, particularly in cybersecurity, and will be expected to leverage technology to support program objectives, including the identification and implementation of classification standards and risk assessments. The role will also involve performing privacy impact assessments on data incidents and collaborating with relevant stakeholders, such as Security Services and Legal, to resolve these incidents effectively. Furthermore, the Associate Principal will be responsible for preparing the program for regulatory and internal audits, ensuring timely remediation of any findings, and maintaining the organization's Records and Information Management (RIM) program to ensure proper retention and disposal of information across all media and formats.
