About the position

The Data Governance Analyst - Assistant Vice President at iCapital will play a crucial role in supporting the company's Data Governance and Data Management program. This position focuses on managing a data domain, establishing governance committees, and maintaining a data catalog, all aimed at improving core data assets across the organization. The ideal candidate will be dynamic and adaptable, working closely with various leaders to drive change and ensure data quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the data governance framework.
  • Help promote the data governance framework and drive adoption across all the company's divisions.
  • Work with business partners to establish data quality standards and metrics.
  • Build strong partnerships with business and technology stakeholders, working with internal stakeholders to complete various data projects.
  • Create and maintain a data dictionary for assigned data domain.
  • Monitor compliance and progress of data domain and ensure data governance program goals are accomplished.
  • Provide thought leadership to develop processes and companywide roles and responsibilities to meet data governance policy expectations.
  • Negotiate ownership of data with data consumers and producers.
  • Support the system of record as a 'single source of truth' for each data element and resolve multiple sources of truth issues with key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate multi-directional communication of strategies, priorities, and issues.
  • Work with business units to ensure data ownership and quality.
  • Champion organizational behavior change related to data management as an asset.
  • Lead or assist on ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology/business administration or 4+ years of experience in a related field.
  • 3 years of relevant hands-on data governance, data quality, or data management experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant hands-on data governance, data quality, or data management experience.
  • Proficient with spreadsheet, presentation, and dashboard tools; able to learn quickly and adapt to new changes and challenges.
  • 3+ years working in the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Credible across both business and IT.
  • Understanding of operational processes, data, and systems landscape.
  • Proactive and works well in a collaborative environment.
  • Good attention to detail and analytical thinking.
