About the position

The Data Governance Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the information/data governance team in developing and executing the data governance framework, policies, and standards. This position supports the enterprise data governance program and software, promoting knowledge sharing and data stewardship across the organization. The specialist collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure data quality and business intelligence, ultimately aiming to enhance patient and organizational outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of data and information stewardship, data lineage, data sources, data integration, metadata, knowledge management, reporting, and analytics.
• Support organizational data standardization and promote knowledge sharing through the design, implementation, and management of the data governance framework, policy, standards, and software.
• Analyze issues and problems systematically, gathering input and translating conclusions into timely decisions and actions.
• Develop control structures to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through governance processes and coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps.
• Promote organizational knowledge and information sharing through the data governance program and facilitate the use of data governance software.
• Establish productive relationships with individuals and teams across the organization and explain complex concepts in easily understood language.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, finance, or business-related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 or more years of Informatics, analyst, data quality, or data analysis experience.
• 1 or more years of SQL experience.
• 1 or more years of report writing/analytics experience.
