About the position

The Data Governance Specialist at The University of Kansas Health System plays a crucial role in assisting the information/data governance team with the formation and execution of the data governance framework, policies, and standards. This position is responsible for implementing and supporting the enterprise data governance program and software, promoting knowledge sharing and data stewardship across the organization to enhance data quality and business intelligence, ultimately aiming for optimal patient and organizational outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the formation and execution of the data governance framework, policy, and standards.
• Support the implementation and management of the enterprise data governance program and software.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve the Data Governance Program.
• Analyze issues systematically and translate conclusions into timely decisions and actions.
• Develop control structures to ensure data accuracy and quality through governance processes.
• Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps with business and technical owners.
• Promote organizational knowledge sharing through the data governance program.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing events and maintain communications on data governance across the organization.
• Establish productive relationships with individuals and teams across the organization.
• Facilitate a culture of collaboration and trust among various stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, financial or business-related field or equivalent experience.
• 3 or more years of experience in Informatics, data quality, or data analysis.
• 1 or more years of SQL experience.
• 1 or more years of report writing/analytics experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of data governance, data lineage, and data integration.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in a related field.
• Data Governance Management Experience.
• Experience with Collibra.
