About the position

The Data Governance Technical Architect at Axtria is responsible for leading innovative data governance strategies and solutions, focusing on improving data quality, access, findability, and interoperability. This role requires a deep understanding of data governance principles and the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The architect will provide technical consulting on data governance, design comprehensive solutions, and ensure alignment with organizational strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes impacting data governance practices.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive data governance technical solution blueprint and capabilities roadmap.
  • Drive thought leadership on data governance technology platforms and selection.
  • Design data governance solution frameworks covering all tenets of Enterprise Data Governance.
  • Take ownership of technical solution architecture aligning with clients' objectives.
  • Demonstrate cross-functional leadership, aligning clients' business and IT teams.
  • Ensure technical solution architecture meets quality criteria and oversee testing processes.
  • Perform hands-on data governance configurations and integrations as needed.
  • Lead client pre-sales and project workshops.
  • Create processes to drive efficiencies in data governance operations.
  • Collaborate with Axtria Product Teams to enhance data governance capabilities.
  • Coach junior team members in data governance practices.
  • Identify and understand client requirements and recommend data governance solutions.
  • Work closely with client partners to develop technical solutions for data governance requirements.
  • Demonstrate technical and strategic leadership as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead project scoping, estimation, and key activities for quality deliverables.
  • Design and implement data governance projects as per requirements.
  • Lead solution design leveraging data governance tools and cloud-native capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in data governance.
  • Actively contribute to pre-sales and business development in the data governance domain.
  • Identify and develop use cases, POCs, and demos for data governance capabilities.
  • Design innovative solutions as accelerators across data governance tenets.
  • Author solutions for client pain points through thought leadership and white papers.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in information technology, with 5+ years in technical leadership in Data Management or Data Office.
  • Experience as a technical solution architect designing and implementing data governance solutions for mid to large scale organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehouses/Lakehouse architectures, Master Data Management, Data Quality Management, and Data Integration.
  • Hands-on experience with data governance tools like Informatica IDMC, Collibra, and Alation across all DG capabilities.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as a team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for leading discussions with technical and business leaders.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with large data sets.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple clients in an advisory capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science; MBA/Master's Degree/Ph.D. preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of data assets and data management principles in Life Science commercial or clinical operations.
