About the position

The Data Governance Specialist role focuses on ensuring the integrity and quality of healthcare data through effective governance practices. This position involves managing data governance, data management, and data quality processes specifically for healthcare payer data products. The specialist will work with clinical data standards and operations, ensuring compliance with various healthcare interoperability standards and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee data governance practices for healthcare payer data products.
• Manage data quality and data management processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data-related questions and issues.
• Engage with business and data stakeholders to motivate and inspire change.
• Develop project plans that support both near and long-term goals in data governance.
• Analyze healthcare data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Utilize data analysis tools to support governance initiatives and reporting.

Requirements

• Proven experience in data governance, data management, and data quality practices.
• Strong understanding of healthcare payer data products and processes.
• Familiarity with clinical data standards and operations.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in data analysis and governance tools such as SQL, SAS, and Python.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present to management and peer groups.
• Strong leadership skills to motivate teams and engage stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Project management skills and familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Rally.
