About the position

The Data Governance Specialist role focuses on ensuring the integrity, quality, and management of healthcare data products and processes. This position involves implementing data governance practices, managing clinical data standards, and facilitating data quality initiatives within a fast-paced healthcare environment. The specialist will work closely with various stakeholders to enhance data management and support clinical operations through effective data governance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Implement data governance practices for healthcare payer data products.
• Manage data quality initiatives and ensure compliance with clinical data standards.
• Facilitate data management processes related to health services and care management.
• Engage with business and data stakeholders to resolve data-related questions or issues.
• Develop project plans to support both near and long-range goals in data governance.
• Analyze and report on healthcare interoperability and data exchange standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in data governance, data management, and data quality practices.
• Strong understanding of healthcare payer data products and processes.
• Familiarity with clinical terminology and data management lifecycle in health services.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in data analysis and governance tools (e.g., SQL, SAS, Python).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Project management skills and familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with Agile methodology and tools (e.g., Jira, Rally).
• Leadership skills to motivate teams and inspire change.
