About the position

The Data Historian Engineer III will provide expertise in data historian systems, focusing on continuous improvement, retrofitting, and large capital investments to enhance manufacturing and operational efficiency. This role involves designing, architecting, troubleshooting, and delivering enhancements for data historian systems, particularly the AVEVA PI system, while also supporting additional operational technology applications. The position is critical in ensuring the availability of automation systems across multiple manufacturing facilities, contributing to the company's mission of improving lives through innovative healthcare solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide data historian expertise for projects including continuous improvement, retrofit, and large capital investments.
  • Design, architect, troubleshoot, and deliver future enhancements for data historian related systems.
  • Support and maintain the AVEVA PI system including the PI Data Archive, PI AF, Event Frames, and PI Vision.
  • Support and maintain additional OT applications and data historians on the Process Control Network.
  • Design innovative solutions in automation systems, data historians, and IoT devices with a focus on Digital 4.0.
  • Maintain and provide technical support to ensure availability of automation systems for multiple manufacturing facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or related technological field and 5 to 7 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with OSI PI is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Direct experience with regulated environments (i.e. cGMP, OSHA, EPA).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing technologies and instrumentation.
  • Experience with computerized manufacturing systems (DCS, MES, PLC etc.).
  • Understanding of network infrastructure.
  • Experience in establishment of safe practices in a cGMP environment.
  • Understanding of virtual environments, VMWare, Hyper-V.
  • Proven technical and analytical skills to quickly resolve system issues.
