About the position

The Data Integration Analyst at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is responsible for developing integrated biomedical data resources and applications that support clinical and translational research. This role involves analyzing workflows, delivering custom data management solutions, and collaborating with researchers to optimize data integration processes. The analyst will work independently and as part of a team to enhance the quality and utility of scientific data throughout its lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Independently develop integrated biomedical data resources and associated applications.
  • Analyze clinical, clinical research, and laboratory workflows to deliver custom data management solutions.
  • Build consensus for complex data integration projects by defining clear milestones.
  • Develop best-practice methods for the creation and operation of biomedical data resources.
  • Collaborate with biomedical researchers to identify and analyze scientific problems requiring data integration.
  • Create requirements for complex data integration and application development projects.
  • Develop and implement innovative data models for complex biomedical data types.
  • Write ETL procedures to combine and recombine biomedical data into useful formats.
  • Build and optimize scientific data management and reporting applications.
  • Manage small projects and subprojects within larger initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • At least three (3) years of experience in database development, database administration, or data management.
  • Working knowledge of SQL required.
  • Working knowledge of relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle required.
  • Working knowledge of Python required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, Biological Science or a related discipline Preferred
  • At least four (4) years of experience in a biomedical science or healthcare environment Preferred
  • Previous experience in source code management, continuous integration, and automated testing tools Preferred
  • Project management experience Preferred
  • Previous experience in data modeling, ETL, and applications of highly dimensional data types Preferred
  • Working knowledge of R, Go, or JavaScript Preferred
  • Working knowledge of biomedical or healthcare data standards such as HL7, ICD, CPT, SNOMED Preferred
