About the position
The Summer Internship Program at Paramount offers college students a unique opportunity to explore careers in the entertainment industry through a 10-week paid internship. Interns will work in various areas, including Data Engineering, Data Science, and Business Intelligence, contributing to data-driven decision-making processes while gaining valuable experience and insights into the industry. This program serves as a pipeline for future employment opportunities, allowing interns to engage with iconic brands and develop their skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Support data pipeline development, including machine-learning algorithms using disparate data sources.
- Collaborate with internal product and business intelligence teams to determine the best approach for data ingestion, structure, and storage.
- Communicate complex data problems and solutions effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and develop data pipelines.
- Utilize analytical tools and languages for data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
Requirements
- Experience with Python, SQL, Advanced SQL, git, Apache Airflow, Django, Chart.js, D3.js, BigQuery, dbt.
- Familiarity with data management systems, both relational and NoSQL (e.g., HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB).
- Strong problem-solving and creative-thinking skills.
- Experience with Google Cloud, Microservices, Grafana, Jira, and Confluence is a plus.
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
- Experience using Atlassian agile management tools (JIRA, Jira Align, Enterprise Insights, Confluence).
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau.
