About the position

The Data/IT Support Specialist at Emory University plays a crucial role in supporting and maintaining the business applications, data, and technological infrastructure within the ACPE (The Standard for Spiritual Care and Education). This position is responsible for regularly assessing the technological needs of ACPE, serving as the primary administrator for customer relationship systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and evaluating new technologies and systems to implement approved solutions. The specialist will act as the main point of contact for technology vendors and consultants, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to enhance the organization's technological capabilities. In addition to managing the Microsoft SharePoint platform, which includes establishing user accounts, controlling access to document libraries, and providing end-user training, the specialist will also oversee routine maintenance of the platform and servers. Staying updated with relevant developments is essential, as is reviewing usage and activity reports to optimize user experiences. The role also involves managing business software licensing and user accounts for all ACPE technology solutions, monitoring hardware and software inventory, and researching the latest technology to recommend improvements to the IT infrastructure. The Data/IT Support Specialist will also focus on data management support, leading efforts to capture organizational metrics for reporting and planning, conducting regular data clean-ups for accuracy and compliance, and ensuring all data requests comply with privacy laws. This position requires a proactive approach to improving the health and security of ACPE's technology environments, including coordinating staff security training and monitoring general IT support tickets. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of ACPE, contributing to the organization's goal of enhancing spiritual care and education through effective technology management.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain business applications, data, and technological infrastructure within ACPE.
  • Assess ACPE's technological needs and serve as primary administrator for customer relationship systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems and evaluate new technologies and systems for implementation.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and consultants, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Oversee the Microsoft SharePoint platform, including user account management and access control.
  • Perform regular maintenance on the platform, servers, and intranet, and provide end-user training.
  • Monitor and improve the health and security of ACPE technology environments.
  • Lead collaboration to capture organizational metrics for reporting and planning.
  • Conduct regular reviews and clean-ups of housed data for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage business software licensing and user accounts for all ACPE technology solutions.

Requirements

  • Five years of professional experience in IT and application administration or a Bachelor's degree with three years of IT experience.
  • At least two years of experience as a SharePoint and Nimble/Salesforce administrator preferred.
  • Excellent project management and documentation skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple requests.
  • Strong data analysis, management, and cleaning skills, with experience using analysis tools like MS Excel.
  • Ability to assess and convey the impact of new requirements on ACPE platforms and related systems.
  • Strong interest and ability to quickly master new technology.
  • Advanced knowledge of Nimble AMS, Microsoft SharePoint, and similar software.
