Responsibilities

• Analyze a variety of housing data sources to identify emerging trends, changes, and insights about the American real estate market.
• Translate complex data into clear, engaging articles and visualizations that inform our readers.
• Collaborate with our editorial team to brainstorm story ideas and improve our coverage and reporting.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest housing market dynamics, including home prices, mortgage rates, inventory levels, and more.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a data journalist or in a similar role.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong Python coding skills and experience working with tools like Yukon, Snowflake, Adobe, and Tableau.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to translate technical information for a general and specialist audience.
• Passion for the real estate industry and a knack for spotting important trends and insights.
• Creativity and problem-solving skills to develop innovative ways to cover the housing market.
• Collaborative spirit and willingness to work closely with our editorial and product/development teams.
