About the position

As a Data Management Architect and Data Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will be at the forefront of advanced technology, tackling complex data challenges that are critical to the healthcare sector. Your role will involve specializing in modern data and integration platforms such as Informatica, Reltio, Snowflake, and MuleSoft. You will be responsible for connecting, harmonizing, and transforming data to deliver relevant insights that help our clients meet their mission. This position offers the opportunity to grow Booz Allen's DataOps capabilities while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, data scientists, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. In this role, you will support data management and engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You will architect data systems, build out ETL pipelines, interface with data stores, and handle both structured and unstructured data. Your responsibilities will include improving data quality, building data models, and performing analytical exploration of data. You will lead the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms, guiding clients to solve their most pressing challenges. Responsibilities

  • Architect data systems and build ETL pipelines.
  • Interface with data stores and perform data ingestion.
  • Handle structured and unstructured data to improve data quality.
  • Build data models and perform analytical exploration of data.
  • Lead the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver relevant insights.
  • Support data management and engineering activities on mission-driven projects.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience with software and systems engineering in all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • 10+ years of experience in architecting, engineering, performance and capacity, deployment standards in production, product integration, and product support.
  • 10+ years of experience with MDM, developing ETL, and data pipelines.
  • Experience with data modeling, schema configuration, data quality, and standardization techniques.
  • Experience with PL/SQL, SQL, or Shell scripting.
  • Experience with RDBMS data stores, including Oracle or MySQL.
  • Ability to work in a big data environment.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and communicate with multiple functional groups.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Snowflake, Reltio, Informatica MDM hub, Informatica Power Center, and Informatica Data Quality (IDQ).
  • Expertise in AWS cloud application development and Enterprise Data Management.
  • Experience with Databricks or similar data lake or data warehouse technologies.
  • Experience with ElasticSearch and AWS cloud native services for big data storage and processing.
  • Experience with large-scale, distributed systems design and development.
  • Experience with leading a technical team.
  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
