About the position
The Data Management Consultant will serve as a senior data analyst and subject matter expert, leading initiatives for the Prince William Water (PWWater) Information and Business Analytics. This role involves documenting customer requirements, analyzing and designing new business processes, and developing business analytics dashboards. The consultant will provide technical oversight and guidance for various initiatives, including SaaS applications and AI solutions, while mentoring junior analysts and managing projects through their life cycles.
Responsibilities
- Lead, elicit and clearly document business and systems requirements of multiple stakeholders.
- Develop reporting or dashboards based on the stakeholder requirements.
- Review existing business processes and system inefficiencies and propose improvements.
- Prepare ad-hoc queries as necessary using common reporting tools and other available tools and resources.
- Conduct data quality checks using automated processes.
- Develop and implement self-service dashboards or reports standards across the organization.
- Review and mature data governance policies, processes, and procedures for guidance.
- Monitor and audit data access, data usage, and adherence to data governance policies.
- Engage with multiple teams to spark innovative use cases for data and AI.
- Maintain the data warehouses, data marts, and data lakes.
- Assist in the configuration and management of Dell Boomi integrations, database/system connections.
- Manage projects through all project life cycles (including cross-divisional projects).
- Perform other related duties and activities as required.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a data analyst with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Math, or equivalent, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years experience.
- 4+ years of experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, or equivalent tools.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL and other database management systems.
- Experience with data warehouses, data marts, and data lakes.
- Proficiency with Python, AI solutions, SaaS, and cloud concepts.
