About the position

The Data Management Governance Analyst at Clean Harbors is responsible for managing and protecting the organization's data, ensuring compliance with regulations, and helping achieve data-related goals. This role involves configuring and maintaining Microsoft Purview in large-scale enterprise environments, developing strategies for data governance, and optimizing data flow and quality to improve data accuracy and value. The analyst will also play a key role in metadata management, risk and compliance management, and providing training and support to users.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain Microsoft Purview solutions to align with organizational goals.
  • Utilize Microsoft Purview for data visibility and management across its lifecycle.
  • Develop data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data management requirements and establish effective controls.
  • Design and implement metadata standards, models, and processes for the organization.
  • Ensure accurate capture and organization of metadata for accessibility.
  • Implement data lineage strategy across all information domains.
  • Document source to target data mapping, transformations, and controls.
  • Utilize Microsoft Purview's risk and compliance solutions to minimize compliance risks.
  • Leverage data security solutions to discover and protect sensitive information.
  • Conduct training sessions on Microsoft Purview functionality and best practices.
  • Align data strategy with organizational goals and monitor industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 6+ years working in the IT industry with 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Purview.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and data management concepts.
  • Proven track record of managing and configuring Microsoft Purview in large-scale environments.
  • In-depth understanding of data management principles including data quality and lineage.
  • Experience in Information Security governance, risk, and compliance.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and its suite of data tools.
  • Experience with SQL, Oracle, NoSQL databases, and Data Fabric architectures.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with other data management/governance/security products like Collibra, Varonis, Atlan, Alation, Egnyte.
