About the position

The Managing Director of Enterprise Data Governance and Strategy at Evernorth is a key leadership role responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with business goals and regulatory requirements. This position ensures the accuracy, consistency, and security of data across the organization, supporting the mission to enhance health and value for clients. The role involves establishing governance frameworks, implementing data policies, and leading a high-performing team to foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and management of the Enterprise Data Governance and Strategy Program.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure data is managed in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Promote data governance and adoption of best practices across the enterprise.
  • Lead efforts to ensure data quality and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Implement processes to monitor and improve data integrity across the organization.
  • Establish governance policies for AI-generated data.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for data governance and data science initiatives.
  • Regularly report on progress to executive leadership.
  • Manage reference data and vendor relationships for enterprise leverage.
  • Build and manage a high-performing team of data governance and data science professionals.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in healthcare, data science, AI, and data governance.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Governance, Computer Science, Information Systems or similar field required.
  • Master's degree or clinician background preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in PBM Clinical Systems or related fields.
  • Experience in the healthcare payer or insurance industry is highly preferred.
  • At least 5 years experience as a People Leader.
  • Strong knowledge of data science methodologies and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in data management tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Hadoop).
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align solutions with business objectives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Experience in a matrix organization to drive business results.
  • Ability to drive consensus across executive level matrix team partners.
