About the position

This position ensures the stability and integrity of the data network environment. This is achieved by planning, designing, implementing, and operating the network environment and components across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed network designs in support of business requests, including routing, switching, load balancer, DDI, and wireless technologies.
  • Develop implementation plans in support of simple and complex change requests.
  • Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to network configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Oversee and implement new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for network administration and disaster recovery.
  • Interact and coordinate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
  • Respond as the Data Network representative in an 'on-call' 24x7 rotation to resolve emergent issues.
  • Work with Business and Project Management teams to review strategies and requirements.
  • Capture business capability requirements and create an actionable IT-Networking roadmap.
  • Support infrastructure leadership in identifying opportunities for emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience for IT Consultant; 10+ years for Sr IT Consultant.
  • 3+ years' solution design experience is a plus for IT Consultant; 5+ years for Sr IT Consultant.
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in Network Technologies including networking protocols, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and network management tools.
  • Strong understanding of IP addressing design.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to document business requirements and develop technical solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in financial management of project deliverables.
  • Knowledge and experience with cloud networking and automation/scripting tools.
  • IT Consultant - Network Associate/Professional level certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP).
  • Senior IT Consultant - Network Professional/Expert level certifications (e.g., CCNP/CCIE).
