About the position

The Data Networking Engineer role involves providing frontline network support, including wireless support and cabling, primarily in a data center and steel mill environment. The position requires the candidate to work onsite at the USS Irvin Works in West Mifflin, PA, with some opportunities for remote work. The engineer will be part of a small team and will participate in an on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline network support including wireless support and cabling.
• Assist with customer support related to network issues.
• Perform physical work in data center and steel mill areas.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure network reliability and performance.
• Participate in an on-call schedule, approximately once every four weeks.

Requirements

• Experience with Cisco networking equipment and technologies is essential.
• Ability to work in a physical environment, including data centers and industrial settings.
• Must have a personal vehicle for travel between different plants in Western PA.

Nice-to-haves

• CCNA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
