About the position
The Data Operations Hub Engineer will serve as a system administrator responsible for configuring, enhancing, and operating the SCDHHS Data Operations Hub (DOH). This role involves managing the ingestion, transformation, storage, and delivery of data to support operational monitoring and reporting, utilizing Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server and SQL Server. The engineer will implement operational support processes, monitor system performance, and respond to incidents, ensuring the smooth operation of the DOH.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day configuration and support of the Data Operations Hub system and components.
- Monitor and respond to incoming requests for new data inputs/outputs, access, configuration, etc.
- Develop, document, and follow standard processes, procedures, runbooks, etc. for operating the system, including change and incident management.
- Facilitate regular security patching and upgrades of components, working with Infrastructure teams as necessary.
- Complete the lift and shift of the existing DOH implementation from its existing data center to a new data center.
- Build CI/CD pipelines on Windows platforms.
- Manage Windows application environments.
Requirements
- Windows Server administration
- Knowledge of system administration concepts including security, networking, application configuration, and patching/updating.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent (4 years) related experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience documenting processes and procedures, runbooks, etc.
- Experience configuring products based on a business requirements document.
- Experience with application monitoring and alerting.
