About the position

The Data Operations Lead/Engineer will support the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. This role focuses on refining a centralized data environment (CDE) that impacts the Department of Defense (DoD) by contributing to auditable financial transaction data and building a common operating picture for leadership. The position requires strong technical skills in Python and SQL, along with effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Designs, models, documents, and guides the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications.
• Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications.
• Creates scripts for data ingest pipeline using Python.
• Ensures data ingests run in accordance with established Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
• Develops relational databases using SQL.
• Guides development aligned to established business needs and/or policies.
• May create standards and/or do modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance.
• Additional duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

• 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL).
• Strong SQL skills for querying, managing, and optimizing relational databases.
• Must possess and maintain a Secret security clearance.
