The mission of the Data Operations Analyst 2 position is to assist Church members in fulfilling their divinely appointed responsibility to discover their families through family history methods. This includes submitting names to the temple for saving ordinances and helping to bring souls unto Christ. The individual in this role will work with various formats and types of genealogical record data published in the Historical Records section on FamilySearch.org. The position involves analyzing, manipulating, standardizing, enriching, conforming, and normalizing index data. The analyst will run pre-scripted treatments on the data to achieve desired outcomes and must be familiar with internal systems and processes that ensure index data is searchable by patrons and usable by stakeholders and partners. The Data Operations Analyst 2 is responsible for understanding project requirements and specifications with direction. This includes communicating with managers, technical leads, and team members to clarify project requirements and specifications, as well as engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop both front-end interfaces and backend scripts to build tools that facilitate various team needs. The analyst must meet assigned deadlines for projects and work effectively in an operational environment to maintain production cadence. Additionally, the analyst will demonstrate knowledge of various databases, structures, and data management tools, acquiring understanding and knowledge of additional tools as needed. They will work collaboratively with other team members to repair data and resolve obstacles, report issues with data and systems, and implement improvements. The role requires resolving complex data structure and system conformance issues with assistance, understanding operational business needs, and adapting business processes accordingly. The analyst is expected to rapidly learn new tools and technology to perform essential job duties effectively.
