About the position

The Data Ops Engineer at HealthScape Advisors plays a crucial role in shaping the Analytics team by designing, building, and deploying advanced data capabilities to support clients in the healthcare sector. This position focuses on enhancing data analytics within the firm and involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the effective use of data in decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain processes and components of streaming data to support real-time analytics.
  • Develop code using Big Data Technologies such as Spark, Java, Scala, SQL, Python, R, and Hive.
  • Lead the translation, integration, and evolution of analytics artifacts into standardized components of the analytics infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with analytics team members to manage technological infrastructure across multiple data platforms.
  • Identify emerging healthcare analytic themes and lead innovation in new capabilities and solutions.
  • Develop compelling Proofs of Concept (PoCs) for data solutions using emerging technologies.
  • Define standards and best practices for enterprise usage.
  • Support the development of a data and analytics culture through knowledge sharing and mentorship.
  • Ensure the security, confidentiality, and integrity of client information.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of applicable experience in Data Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Health Informatics, Data Science).
  • Strong programming experience with SQL, Python, R, Spark, PySpark, Scala, and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience with big data processing technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hive, Hadoop/MapReduce).
  • Knowledge of DevOps and experience with digital applications such as AWS and Linux.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to convey complex analytics information.
  • Complex problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous exposure to common healthcare data file formats (e.g., 837s, EMR, administrative claims data).
  • Eagerness to mentor and share knowledge with the team.
  • Enthusiasm for learning in an entrepreneurial environment.
