About the position
The Data Platform Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Data Movement Frameworks for Data Ingestion on the Enterprise Data Lake. This role requires expertise in framework development, enhancements, bug fixes, and ensuring platform stability. The engineer will also manage Cloudera Administration and vulnerability management, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of data operations.
Responsibilities
- Defines and operationalizes the data platform, mapping relevant use cases for OS and/or Big Data applications.
- Develops, maintains, and improves deployment pipelines for infrastructure, applications, and data.
- Maintains and ensures operational metadata (logs, performance metrics, etc.) are available for diagnostics.
- Builds architecture for data and/or Big Data Platforms and distributed systems.
- Creates automated solutions to deliver analytical capabilities and build new data pipelines.
- Analyzes information to determine business needs from requests and implements effective technical solutions.
- Takes a new perspective on existing solutions to solve problems of moderate to high complexity.
- Leads small data engineering projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in systems engineering or administration or equivalent education and related training or experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux, Unix, Windows Shell Programming, Python, Git, Networking, Storage Systems (HDFS, GPFS).
- Previous experience in planning and managing IT projects.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree and six years of experience or equivalent education and related training or experience.
- Banking or financial services experience.
- Full understanding of Agile methodology.
- Well-versed in working in distributed teams comprised of both onshore and offshore.
- Ability to develop, operationalize, and deliver periodic enhancements to data movement frameworks on the Enterprise Data Lake platform.
- Ability to perform upgrades, design & code reviews, SAST & DAST scan & fixes.
- Aptitude to provide Framework trainings to stakeholders.
