About the position
The Data Platform Solutions Engineer role at Apple involves leading customer deployment, operation, and automation initiatives across cloud-based data infrastructure. The position requires leveraging technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, and Ray to build effective solutions for customers, while also educating them on the value of the Apple Data Platform (ADP). This role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams and direct engagement with customers to support their onboarding and ensure seamless integration into production environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead customer deployment and operation initiatives for cloud-based data infrastructure.
- Leverage technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, and Ray to build effective solutions.
- Educate customers on the value of the ADP platform and address their challenges.
- Guide solutions from proof of concept to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to meet customer needs.
- Support customer onboarding and manage incoming requests.
- Develop solutions that align with customer business objectives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of strong experience with Kubernetes and AWS.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with big data technologies and mainstream open-source frameworks.
- Experience with automation for testing, monitoring, and CI/CD.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working directly with customers.
Nice-to-haves
- Basic experience with mainstream programming languages such as Python or Java.
- Familiarity with model training, evaluation, or inferencing in machine learning.
- Experience working in a customer-facing or consulting role.
- Knowledge of Ray.
