About the position

Coforge is seeking a Data Architect to join their team in Chicago, IL. This role focuses on designing and implementing data architecture solutions, particularly in cloud environments, with an emphasis on AWS services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, governance, and security, and will be responsible for translating business requirements into effective technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data architecture solutions for structured and unstructured data.
• Develop proof of concepts (POCs) for data modeling.
• Manage all aspects of data governance, mastering, and metadata management.
• Architect and deliver scalable, cloud-based enterprise data solutions.
• Document architecture at multiple levels and across various views.
• Translate business requirements into detailed technology solutions.
• Perform assessments of third-party vendors.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Expertise in data architecture and design.
• Strong experience with data modeling and POCs.
• Proficient in data governance, mastering, and metadata management.
• Experience in architecting cloud-based data solutions, particularly with AWS.
• Fluent understanding of data security and compliance requirements.
• Ability to document architecture at high and detailed levels.
• Understanding of Solutions Architecture methodologies.
• Experience with OLTP systems and RDBMS (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, Redshift).
• Proficient in Python and Pyspark.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in legacy application/data migration to cloud platforms.
• Good understanding of data lineage and security aspects in cloud environments.
