About the position

The Data Privacy Analyst position at American National Insurance is responsible for securing the personal identifiable information (PII) of agents, policyholders, and employees from unauthorized access by application developers, QA personnel, business users, and contractors. The role involves conducting data privacy audits, developing policies and procedures, implementing data privacy solutions, monitoring compliance, and providing training on data privacy practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Data Privacy Audits to analyze risks and vulnerabilities.
• Develop Data Privacy Policies and Procedures to protect organizational data.
• Implement Data Privacy Solutions in collaboration with IT departments.
• Monitor Data Privacy Compliance through regular audits.
• Conduct Data Privacy Training sessions for employees.
• Consult with application development and infrastructure teams on database performance and debugging.
• Assist in the review of traditional and non-traditional database applications.
• Perform database maintenance and monitor performance to meet business expectations.
• Create and maintain documentation related to database environments.
• Participate in rotating on-call after-hours support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in understanding and locating PII data.
• Hands-on experience with databases such as SQL, DB2, and Oracle.
• Minimum of three years of experience in relational database administration or application development programming.
• Competency in basic database administration tasks including security, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.

Nice-to-haves

• Database administration certification(s).
• Experience with IBM's Optim Infosphere, Db2 for z/OS and Db2 for LUW, and Microsoft's SQL Server products.
