About the position

The Data Privacy Sr Lead Analyst is responsible for overseeing governance and operational risk management related to data privacy within the organization. This role ensures compliance with Citi's Global Privacy Policy and manages operational risks associated with privacy, working collaboratively across various business units to implement effective controls and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, evaluate, and validate controls for data privacy risk using tools such as the MCA and KRIs.
  • Support the business in maintaining and enhancing Permanent Control Readiness.
  • Assist product and function heads in gap analysis and implementation of global policy requirements and regional standards.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of data privacy processes and validate changes resulting from these reviews.
  • Track and review deviations and risk acceptances, ensuring effective compensating controls are documented.
  • Follow escalation policies to address material risk events related to data privacy.
  • Assist in the creation of Issues/CAPs related to Data Privacy as needed.
  • Track issue and CAP status for data privacy items and escalate as necessary.
  • Support the Business and Functions during reviews and audits related to Data Privacy.
  • Coordinate with Global In-Business Regulatory head for preparation and remediation of audits.
  • Implement global, regional, and local Data Privacy projects effectively.
  • Ensure high-quality execution of Data Privacy programs for Citi initiatives.
  • Perform training on risk and control concepts and customize training programs as needed.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Data Privacy, Information Security, or Cyber risk management.
  • Minimum of two years in Internal audit, Risk Management, or Control Management role.
  • Working knowledge of Data Privacy Compliance laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with privacy-related technology considerations such as cookies and geolocation data.
  • Strong business analysis skills with a history of conceptual thinking and problem-solving.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to influence and drive consensus.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to optimize work processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Up-to-date understanding of data privacy risk and control concepts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Organizational savvy with knowledge of management processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with privacy-related technology considerations such as biometric data.
  • Experience in shaping opportunities through conceptual thinking.
