About the position

The Data Processing Specialist at IC Group is responsible for managing the postal data processing workflow essential to digital printing and mailing operations. This role involves integrating customer data for print and mail production, performing data conversion, cleansing, mapping, and validation to ensure readiness for mail production. The ideal candidate will be technically inclined, dependable, and possess a positive attitude, thriving in a fast-paced environment while focusing on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow customer specifications, job tickets, and production line capabilities to ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Perform data operations for direct mail, including file conversion, address hygiene, merge/purge, postal presort, and file creation.
  • Accurately complete presorted jobs from start to finish using company licensed software (BCC Mail Manager).
  • Provide accurate postage estimates to customers.
  • Maintain and complete internal paperwork and documentation for downstream departments.
  • Understand USPS postal regulations and requirements to optimize postage savings.
  • Provide the USPS with information needed to process all postage statements and submit it to the postal website in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with all necessary production departments in a professional manner.
  • Create and/or update documentation for all programs for internal reference.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Must be computer literate and have previous experience with different computer programs including Microsoft Office.
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel.
  • Must have the ability to understand, analyze, and interpret general mailing reports, procedures, and basic postal regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from department managers or team leads.

Nice-to-haves

  • Mail Design Professional (MDP) Certification (IC Group will assist in attaining certification).
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, etc.
  • Experience within the direct mail and/or printing industry.
  • Experience with variable data document composition software (Quadient Inspire, Planet Press, Smart Stream Designer).
