About the position

The Data Product Analyst position within KeyBank's Enterprise Data & Analytics Services (EDAS) is a pivotal role designed to enhance and optimize the analytics experience for over 500 analysts across the bank. This position is crucial in ensuring data integrity for KeyBank's analytic marts and in the development of new data assets. The role operates within a federated model where each line of business is responsible for its analytics, while the EDAS organization provides centralized analytical functions through its Center of Excellence (CoE). The Data Product Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to identify and solve analytical problems, ensuring that the data used for analytics is accurate, reliable, and consumable. In this role, the Data Product Analyst will maintain and enhance KeyBank's Google Cloud Analytics Marts, becoming a subject matter expert (SME) on specific Star Marts and Client Analytics Marts (CAM). The analyst will be responsible for supporting Enterprise Mart Data Quality, which includes data quality testing, data builds, and data consumption. A proactive approach to developing data standards is essential, as is the ability to analyze both small and large datasets. The analyst will collaborate with the Operations and Support team to identify gaps in tool functionality and capabilities, ensuring that all phases of user acceptance testing are supported to maintain quality in releases and user experience. The position requires strong communication skills to interact with the analytics community, promote best practices, and address issues in analytics processes. The Data Product Analyst will also engage with business partners to understand their analytics and reporting needs, ensuring that solutions align with KeyBank's technology roadmap. This role is not only about data management but also involves providing education and consulting to the user community, answering key business questions through exploration and discovery, and advocating for quality solutions within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, enhance, and optimize KeyBank's Google Cloud Analytics Marts in support of 500+ analysts.
  • Become a subject matter expert (SME) of specific Star Marts and Client Analytics Marts (CAM) data.
  • Support Enterprise Mart Data Quality, including data quality testing, data builds, and data consumption.
  • Develop data standards to build trusted data assets and analyze datasets of varying sizes.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Support teams to identify and resolve gaps in tool functionality.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing to ensure quality in releases and user experience.
  • Engage with the Analytics Community to promote best practices and resolve issues in analytics processes.
  • Communicate proactively with business partners to understand analytics and reporting needs.
  • Understand the data landscape and its impact on other business partners and lines of business (LOBs).
  • Provide education and consulting to the user community on analytics-related questions.
  • Answer key business questions through exploration and discovery.
  • Ensure solutions align with KeyBank's technology roadmap.
  • Connect upstream data changes to downstream consumption.
  • Partner with the Data Literacy team to integrate analytics data concepts with data lineage and catalog capabilities.
  • Provide thought leadership for the evolution of analytics and enterprise data.
  • Align initiatives with broader organizational priorities by partnering with analytical teams and technology partners.
  • Resolve data incidents in collaboration with LOB and KTOS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience; or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Intermediate or stronger programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Understanding of data structures and schemas.
  • Familiarity with data literacy, data lineage, and data catalogues.
  • Knowledge of governance standards and promoting good behavior in data usage.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud platforms.
  • Strong data background and technical management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and a good team player.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with both Business and Technology perspectives, including product knowledge and source system data.
  • Proficiency in Python/SQL or equivalent programming languages.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $55,000 to $69,000 annually depending on location and experience.
