About the position

The Product Data Analyst at Independence American Insurance Company (IAIC) plays a crucial role in leveraging data to inform product decisions, optimize features, and enhance user experiences. This position involves collaboration with product managers, engineers, and designers to drive data-driven insights that shape product strategy and contribute to the company's success in the pet insurance industry.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with product and engineering teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.
  • Generate and test hypotheses and analyze and interpret the results of product experiments.
  • Scope, design, and execute market/segment specific insights, analyses, and tools.
  • Document and communicate procedural recommendations to management based on analysis.
  • Support the evaluation of workflows and automation solutions through data analysis.
  • Lead sophisticated research and analysis through internal and external tools for leadership to support decision-making.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate predictive models, advanced analytics solutions, and advanced algorithms.
  • Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns and identify opportunities.
  • Develop and code software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to clean, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor in Computer Science, Data Science, related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of data experience, with at least 4 years in a comparable role.
  • Experience in an enterprise organization or startup environment is highly preferred.
  • Working experience with programming languages, particularly data manipulation (e.g. SQL) preferred.
  • Experience with Tableau, Microsoft Power BI or equivalent tool to create impactful reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboards.
  • Experience with complex ETL's, Data Warehousing or custom pipelines from multiple data sources.
  • Strong understanding of the fintech or insurance industry.
  • Experience with B2B software products is essential.
