About the position

The Data Product Owner position is a high-performing role focused on data management functions for a specific data domain within USIS at Equifax. The individual will collaborate with a team of data owners to ensure data quality, metadata management, and support services align with service level commitments. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge and business acumen, aimed at driving data transformation and quality monitoring as the organization migrates data sources to the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the lifecycle of Equifax data sources from ingestion to production.
  • Drive support for migration activities to cloud data sources, including validation routines and data comparison between legacy and cloud systems.
  • Develop automated, threshold-based reports to monitor data quality and prioritize improvements based on business impact.
  • Support the maintenance of metadata management artifacts in accordance with USIS Data program standards.
  • Share knowledge of markets, strategies, and operating environments for data products.
  • Apply Product Thinking in job responsibilities.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of data and technology supporting data products.

Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant experience with industry-leading lenders and/or data companies, with knowledge of data structure and management.
  • 3 years of analysis experience in credit risk, telecommunications, financial services, marketing, fraud, or insurance.
  • Strong aptitude for developing data-driven solutions to meet business objectives.
  • 3 years of experience with data handling/quality tools and Big Data ecosystems (SQL, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, BI Tools).
  • 3 years of experience in data and business insights analysis to enhance data quality practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with cloud and on-prem technologies, structured and unstructured data, streaming and reposed data.
  • Strong sense of governance protocols and attention to regulatory, security, and compliance policies.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional efforts and effective relationship building.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
  • Creativity and drive with a desire for thought leadership and strategic thinking.
  • Experience with Collibra or similar metadata management tools.
  • Experience with Looker or similar data visualization tools.
  • Experience with SQL, Google BigQuery, Python, Java, or equivalent database queries.
