About the position

The Information Security Manager at Freddie Mac will play a crucial role in enhancing the housing finance system by overseeing the technical management of Information Security systems. This position focuses on ensuring the proper deployment, configuration, and functionality of security tools while providing mentorship in cybersecurity practices. The manager will lead efforts in various areas such as architecture, security operations, cloud security, and data protection, contributing to a stable and secure organizational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support multiple data protection systems for database and file system activity monitoring and dynamic data masking.
  • Guide and execute initiatives in areas such as Architecture and Innovation, Security Operations & Engineering, Cloud Security, Endpoint Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance, and Data Protection & Privacy.
  • Mentor Systems Engineering teams to ensure quality service and a stable security organization.
  • Oversee the deployment and configuration of security tools and systems across multi-site enterprise cloud and data center environments.
  • Lead all aspects of system administration including policies, keys, backup, and log monitoring for unauthorized access.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of professional related experience with 2+ years of management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with industry-standard security tools such as Database Activity Monitoring (DAM), data tokenization, AV/EDR, Encryption, and Cloud services.
  • Familiarity with System Administration basics in Linux (CentOS, RedHat) and/or Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Experience operating and maintaining production systems in Linux and public cloud environments.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills with network commands and tools like cURL.
  • Knowledge of AWS best practices and policies.
