About the position

Unison Systems is seeking a Data Quality Analyst for a client located in DTC. The primary focus of this role is to establish and maintain ongoing processes that ensure the quality of data within the organization. The Data Quality Analyst will be responsible for defining quality audit processes and performing data integrity checks. This includes reporting anomalies and communicating with business analysts to resolve any identified issues. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues to identify and solve data quality-related problems, ensuring that high-quality data is collected and validated for integrity. In addition to maintaining data quality, the Data Quality Analyst will identify and leverage opportunities to improve quality management processes, systems, and standards. This involves working closely with customers and internal business units to resolve any quality issues that arise. The analyst will utilize profiling, quality tools, and various data sources to determine the causes of quality issues and recommend modifications or changes to the appropriate departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence (BI) solutions. They will use available resources to perform in-depth research and provide direction to customers as they seek to develop or utilize existing BI solutions. The Data Quality Analyst will also be accountable for understanding data quality needs and the impact of existing and new BI deliverables. Recognizing trends in data quality and reporting these to management is a key responsibility of this role. Additionally, the analyst will maintain documentation on issues, issue resolution, and ad-hoc reporting, ensuring that all processes are well-documented and transparent.

Responsibilities

  • Escalates and communicates with BI leaders to confirm priorities and approach.
  • Accountable for understanding data quality needs and the impact of existing and new BI deliverables.
  • Recognizes trends in data quality and reports to management.
  • Maintains documentation on issues, issue resolution, and ad-hoc reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years experience working with data warehouse operations required.
  • 3+ years in Data or Quality Analysis position with demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of the BI technical infrastructure including security, databases, ETL, and reporting environments required.
  • Able to work independently, self-directed, and solutions-oriented.
  • Sound organizational and planning skills with a solid attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS T-SQL Query, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work in a large, geographically diverse system.
