About the position

ICF International is seeking a Data Quality Analyst to support a critical program for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In this role, you will leverage your data analysis skills and experience to assist DHS in understanding the technologies and associated risks that impact critical infrastructure. Your contributions will be vital in identifying and analyzing risks, as well as developing methodological and analytical processes aimed at reducing these risks. The work you perform will directly inform risk information shared with stakeholders responsible for protecting the Nation's critical infrastructure, thereby safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of those who depend on it. The primary work location for this position is at a client site in Arlington, Virginia, with some flexibility for remote work. As a Data Quality Analyst, you will be responsible for contributing to the identification of opportunities and the development of strategies that enhance data management. This includes integrating data-related capabilities into the organization's ongoing efforts. You will support various technical aspects of data collection, processing, maintenance, and management, including extract/transform/load (ETL) processes, archival, recovery, and implementation of data systems. Your role will also involve developing processes and methodologies for data ingestion, discovery, and storage, which are essential for enhancing the organization's data posture. You will run data queries to identify coding issues and data exceptions, as well as perform data cleaning tasks. Additionally, you will gather data from primary and secondary sources to identify and interpret trends, document processes, and maintain accurate data records. Reporting your findings to management will be crucial in informing decisions that impact the organization and its stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the identification of opportunities and development of strategies to support data management.
  • Supporting technical data collection, processing, and maintenance, including data services and ETL processes.
  • Contributing to the development of processes and methodologies for data ingestion, discovery, and storage.
  • Running data queries to identify coding issues and data exceptions, and cleaning data as necessary.
  • Gathering data from primary or secondary sources to identify and interpret trends.
  • Documenting processes and maintaining data records.
  • Reporting data analysis findings to management to inform decisions.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in mathematics, data science, statistics, engineering, or related field.
  • 1+ years of demonstrated experience conducting data quality analysis, ideally in national security, defense security, or homeland security data.
  • Knowledge of data quality methods and tests.
  • Practical experience conditioning large data sets.
  • Demonstrated experience applying mathematical modeling and optimizing methods for decision making.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data and contributing to decision support software or products.
  • Experience presenting and communicating analysis results to project stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience using Python, Java, R, and statistical packages such as MS Excel, SAS, and SPSS.
  • US Citizenship required as part of client contract requirements; high-level clearance required (SCI).
