About the position

The Data Quality Engine Lead is a critical role within the Enterprise Data Governance and Transformation team at SMBC Group. This position involves collaborating with Data Quality Managers, Data Stewards, Technology teams, and Business Stakeholders globally to implement and maintain Data Quality Measurement. The lead will ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of the organization's data, optimizing data collection processes and resolving data quality issues. The role supports the overall Data Quality Framework within the Data Governance program and requires a strong background in data quality management within a complex financial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support all work streams of the Data Quality Engine / Tooling Global implementation and ongoing support of the tool.
  • Partner with Business Stakeholders, DQ Managers, and Technology team to implement Data Quality Rules.
  • Support the overall Data Quality Framework within the Data Governance program.
  • Implement and configure the DQ Engine, test upgrades, and support DQ Rules migration.
  • Collaborate with database developers to improve systems and database designs for data quality tools.
  • Conduct requirement gathering sessions and document functional requirements for integration components.
  • Support end-to-end testing of each DQ release for all stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and/or scorecards to monitor the overall health and stability of the Data Quality Engine.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in Financial Services.
  • Prior experience with data quality measurement and monitoring, including definition of business requirements and technical data quality rules.
  • Understanding of Data Governance best practices.
  • Experience with Data Profiling and Data Management.
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Proven skills in MS Office suite, MS Excel, VBA (Macros), PowerBI, MS Project, and Powerpoint.
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries and perform data analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with JIRA Issue and Project Tracking application.
  • Experience with SDLC phases and Agile methodology.
