About the position

As a Data Quality Specialist within the Data Management & Governance Chief Data Office at Prudential, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that data is secure, accessible, understood, and of known quality. This position is integral to the organization’s mission of leveraging data to support business goals effectively. You will collaborate with product owners, data/system owners, engineers, and various partners to enhance data quality across the enterprise. Your responsibilities will include leading projects that involve data analysis, profiling, curation, and establishing quality rules, all aimed at improving the overall data management processes. In this role, you will be expected to proactively identify project issues, risks, and opportunities, and implement solutions that enhance the delivery of project milestones and objectives. You will also be responsible for developing and delivering training materials that can be utilized across the organization, thereby supporting the growth and development of Data Governance Associates. Your work will contribute to maintaining a common firm-wide data standard and ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements. The Data Management & Governance team is dedicated to creating, assessing, and managing strategies that reduce data redundancy, increase consistency, and protect data accessibility. Responsibilities

  • Serve as project lead and execute assigned activities such as data analysis, profiling, curation, and establishing quality rules against initiative/program roadmaps.
  • Work with business partners, governance peers, project teams, and leaders to gather and understand functional requirements that support the development of business-impact-driven initiatives and projects.
  • Proactively identify project issues, risks, and opportunities, and suggest/implement solutions to improve project delivery.
  • Develop knowledge and experience in adopted standards, tools, workflows, and concepts to increase program efficiency and throughput.
  • Develop and deliver relevant training materials and practices that can be delivered enterprise-wide, supporting the development and mentoring of Data Governance Associates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in working on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Ability to contribute functional requirements and work independently under limited circumstances.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sophisticated messages and creative concepts.
  • Solid understanding of data management concepts and principles.
  • Strong SQL skills for writing complex queries for data profiling and analysis.
  • Experience with data quality initiatives and driving continuous improvement processes.
  • Understanding of both on-premise and cloud-based data technologies.
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks and data life cycle management standards.
  • Experience with data governance or quality tools such as Informatica CDQ, CDGC, Collibra, Alation, or IBM IGC/Information Analyzer.
