About the position

At DaVita Clinical Research, we are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Data Research Analyst to join our Outcomes Research Data Services Team. This role is pivotal in supporting our mission to improve the quality of care for patients with kidney disease through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will be responsible for utilizing existing SQL scripts to aggregate data for both internal and external customers, modifying existing code as necessary, and documenting projects and procedures. Quality control is a critical aspect of this role, ensuring that the data we provide meets the highest standards of accuracy and reliability. The Data Services Team is dedicated to providing subject matter expertise in data, developing comprehensive reports, conducting analyses, and forming partnerships that align with our performance and financial goals. In this position, you will spend approximately 75% of your time on programming and script development, data extraction, data manipulation, quality control, and documentation of analytic datasets for internal research projects and external data deliveries. About 20% of your time will be dedicated to performing feasibility analyses, generating reports, and engaging in process improvement activities, such as automation. The remaining 5% will involve other duties as assigned, allowing for a dynamic and varied work experience. This role is essential in supporting our research initiatives and ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize existing SQL scripts to aggregate data for internal and external customers.
  • Modify existing code as needed to meet project requirements.
  • Document projects and procedures to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Perform quality control on data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses and generate reports as required.
  • Engage in process improvement activities, including automation of tasks.
  • Support the Outcomes Research Data Services Team in various analytical tasks.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in a data-driven field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Health Services Research, Social Science, or Econometrics.
  • 1+ years of experience working with and understanding relational databases, data manipulation, and aggregation.
  • 1+ years of SQL programming experience in an applied work setting.
  • Experience with medical claims data or electronic health records systems (e.g., EPIC) is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with software programs such as SAS, STATA, R, or Python is preferred.
  • Experience with Excel report development is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment is required.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities in an evolving work environment is essential.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of initiative, curiosity, urgency, and follow-through is required.
