About the position

The Data Research Analyst at TREND Community plays a vital role in transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive progress in healthcare, particularly for rare and chronic diseases. This position involves collaboration with NLP/ML engineers and data scientists to enhance the company's insights engine, Krystie™, and deliver custom data explorations for stakeholders. The analyst will be responsible for analyzing data, improving analytical approaches, and ensuring the quality and reproducibility of findings.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the internal data analytics platform handling analytics and AI workloads.
  • Produce publication-quality tables and figures summarizing statistical analyses results.
  • Maintain documentation and standardization of processes for reproducibility of findings.
  • Adapt quickly to multiple concurrent projects and switch contexts as needed.
  • Consider the community's best interests while performing duties.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) in Statistics, Social Science, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Background in linguistics with an emphasis on corpus analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience conducting end-to-end research projects on unstructured datasets.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (R, SQL, or Python).
  • Experience with cloud computing environments (e.g., Databricks).
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills to present findings.
  • Critical thinking skills and a curious nature to uncover novel concepts within data.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with healthcare or biomedical NLP use cases.
  • Familiarity with UMLS (Unified Medical Language System).
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in data analysis.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and big-data technologies.
  • Familiarity with NLP model evaluation and performance metrics.
